Holistic Mental Health Therapy

My Approach

  • I am a compassion-focused therapist who assists clients in navigating their symptoms and concerns by providing them with education and tools that will allow for self-healing. I believe that the ability to heal oneself lies within all of us; the therapist is a guide and the client is the driver. It is important to note that the hard work we do in sessions must also occur outside of our sessions in order to develop resiliency and achieve higher levels of healing.  This will ultimately lead to more periods of peace and joy.

  • My priority with clients is to develop a foundation of trust and a sense of safety.  Trust and safety are crucial to forming a therapeutic relationship that will allow for growth and healing to occur.  As a certified clinical trauma therapist, I recognize that forming trust is a delicate and sometimes arduous process.  

​

  • I believe that each individual’s needs and experiences are unique to that person.  As I learn of your unique experiences, it is my role to cultivate hope, self-compassion, and a sense of purpose, as well as to facilitate healing by gently challenging some of the stuck patterns that you may have developed throughout your life.  I will use a combination of modalities that are best suited to meet your individual needs.

  • I believe in a holistic path to healing - a path where we will embrace the mind, body and spirit in the work that we will do together.  Science has proven that the mind-body connection is extremely powerful.  In fact, it has been found that "our physiological state on any given day can influence our molecular make-up for weeks and months into the future" (Salvich and Cole).  Wow!
